Nice: My Date with an Anchovy
I like to think I’m adventurous when it comes to food. I have blossomed from a picky eater into a woman with an experienced palette. Yet some experiences are more pleasant than others…I tried my best while tasting Nice’s offerings. Niçoise cuisine sits somewhere between French peasant fare and Itialian Grandmothers cooking — a combination that I had not expected, but was delighted to taste! Having a love of cooking, my mother and I found a Niçoise cuisine class in Vieux Nice run by Canadian native Rosa Jackson who’s lived in France for over twenty years. Our group met at a café right on the Cours Saleya where the farmers market takes over six days a week. We were the first to arrive in good ol’ American fashion.
